Tommy’s routine of waking me up during the night continues, but now there’s a slight twist. When she wakes me up, she wants to spend the time rubbing up against me and being petted. While I really enjoy it, I sure do wish she wanted to be affectionate during the daylight hours.
Sunday morning was a slow time for us. We played, ate, and just relaxed.  I knew that I needed to finish the cleaning that I had started on Saturday. I began by cleaning counters, sinks, and tables.  Tommy watched from the rug and would occasionally move to the study to get away from the flurry of activity.
With her in the study I decided that it was time for me to do the vacuuming. As I rolled the vacuum cleaner out of the closet, Tommy noticed it, but since there was no way for her to get out of the room, she stayed put and I left to vacuum the bedroom. When I finished the bedroom I went to start the living room. As I worked over by the windows, out of the corner of my eye, I saw a little fur ball dart into the bedroom.
When I finished vacuuming the condo, I headed to the bedroom and took treats to Tommy under the bed. I let her know that the coast was clear, but she wasn’t taken any chances. After a few hours, she appeared in the living room.
We spent the rest of the day watching television and playing. Tommy doesn’t like football. I think that she sometimes thinks that my loud comments are meant for her.  It takes some time to calm her down, give her a treat and let her know that I was sorry for upsetting her.
When it was time for bed, Tommy headed into the bedroom and we settled in for the night.  We’d had another great day together and hopefully we’d have a peaceful night.
