Wednesday October 29th, 2014: National Cat Day

Tommy woke me up early. Since I had class I was glad to get up and have plenty of time to prepare. Tommy was just happy to have an early breakfast. She ate as I got ready to leave for class.
When I returned, I had to spend a considerable amount of time to work on my notes. Tommy was good about coming and visiting me when she needed some attention or was just curious about what was keeping me so busy.
When I finally finished, we spent a considerable amount of time playing with the laser pointer.  When Tommy was ready for her afternoon nap, I went to work on my blogs and other paperwork.  When I read that it was National Cat Day I decided that Tommy deserved a little extra canned food today.
Once Tommy finished her dinner and I had finished mine, we spent some time just lying on the floor and giving Tommy the attention that she deserved. She really must have enjoyed the extended petting because her purring was loud and long.
When it was time for bed, Tommy joined me in the bedroom for short period of time. When I turned off the lights and television, Tommy took that as her cue that she was on her own for the rest of the night. She left the bedroom and went to the living room to do whatever cats do when they have free time.
