I was awakened a little after 3:00 by a noise. Tommy was
scratching the wall trying to take down the little antennae from the hooks on
the wall. Once I turned on the light,
she “decided” to stop. After a few minutes, peace and quiet was restored and we
went back to bed not to be awakened again until after 6:00.
Once the heat pump came on Tommy was ready for breakfast.
After she ate, she came in to the study and got her morning greeting up on the
desk. That over she went to the living room to wait for me while I finished the
morning posts and printing. With the
postings and printing completed, I returned to the living room where Tommy and
I had a short play session before Tommy decided to take a morning nap.
During her nap, I finished some correspondence and then
returned to the sofa to continue reading. When Tommy came out she “hung around”
near the sofa either on a cushion or nearby on the floor. I needed to run a
couple errands, so I left to complete my tasks.
Upon my return I was greeted by Tommy. She was napping on the
sofa when I returned. She sat on her tissue paper pile and I thought she wanted
to play, but she just wanted some attention. I think she got more attention
than she wanted since I decided to brush her teeth.
Although it appeared that Tommy attempted to escape when I
first put her on the table, she was very compliant and we finished the brushing
session quickly. I put her down and she
immediately went to the snack “plate” which held her hairball treats and then finished
up with a little grass.
She wandered around the condo for a while before coming up to
the sofa. The blue fleece throw was in her spot and she quickly kneaded the
area and claimed the fleece as hers curling up to take a nap. I guess that I will be using the light green
fleece throw that she previously used now that she’s taken over the one I
brought out to use.
When she woke up she went right to her tissue paper pile; the
time for another play session had arrived. We used a couple different toys and
have the fun for me is watching Tommy run through tissue paper. Sometimes she
gets “lost” in the pile and all I see is her tail or a couple paws. It was time for dinner and the minute Tommy heard
the dishes, she was in the kitchen to supervise until her meal was presented to
her.
After Tommy finished eating we sat for a while and then had
another play session. After playing for
a while, Tommy pulled the fleece teaser into the bedroom, but abandoned it to
chew on a crinkle ball. I moved the teaser on to the bungalow and Tommy noticed
the shadows it made. She jumped up on the bungalow and played with wild abandon
chasing the teaser up and down the bungalow.
At one point she was near the top and went to grab the teaser. She grabbed the top shelf one paw and pulled
herself up to top. I couldn’t believe her strength (and good luck) because it
sure looked like she was going to fall.
Play time ended, Tommy curled up on her fleece for a nap. I
sat next to her and read, but after a few pages I also fell asleep. When I woke up I got ready for bed. Tommy left
the sofa and sat on her tissue paper pile, hoping to persuade me to have one
more play session, but I was ready for bed.
After all bedtime preparations were accomplished, I put Tommy’s
treat out on the bed. She heard the bag
open from the living room and quickly came in and jumped up on the bed. She
finished her snack and went back to the living room for some solo play time. I
again fell asleep reading with the television also on. When I woke up there was Tommy sitting right in
front of the T.V. When she saw that I was awake she jumped up on the bed and
curled up in her usual spot. I guess that was her signal to turn off the
television and lights and go to sleep. I
followed her sage advice so we could enjoy some well-deserved sleep.
