This morning I woke up a little before 7:00 when I heard a
noise in the bathroom. Since we’d had an incident yesterday with toilet paper,
I got up to investigate. The good news was that Tommy had left the roll alone
during the night. The other “news” was that Tommy again hadn’t slept on the bed
or eaten her snack.
Since I was already out of bed, I got Tommy her breakfast and
got a head start on the day. Once Tommy was done eating, she let me know that
it was time to play, so I followed her to the study although she did run
ahead. She jumped up on the bed case and
did her usual rubbing against the wall and my face. She didn’t do much playing even though I kept
trying to get her to engage the light.
Tommy spent most of the day napping in various spots. For a
while she sat with me on the sofa while I read. When she’d get up we would play
although she didn’t play for long at any time.
I tried various toys without much success.
When it was time to brush her teeth she was very cooperative,
and when it was time for dinner she would always wake up and eat. Before bed I did get in one semi-tiring round
of play with the paper and a couple of the teasers.
When I went to bed, Tommy sat in front of the television until
I turned it off. I wasn’t sure if that meant she wanted me to get up and play,
or that she was waiting for me to fall asleep so she’d have the place to
herself. I turned out the light and went to sleep knowing that Tommy would
probably not be sleeping on the bed.
