I woke up during the night and saw that Tommy was asleep on the bed in her usual spot.  I didn’t wake up again until I heard Tommy eat a little food from her dish. She didn’t start her usual “wake up it’s time to feed me” routine until 6:58, right before the heater started.
Breakfast served, I went in to the study to handle printing and posting.  Tommy soon followed and sat in her spot to let me know that she was ready for session #1 of catch the light. After we played, it was time for me to have breakfast and do the puzzles.  Tommy came and sat up on the sofa for a little while, but then left.
Throughout the morning she would occasionally check in. At one point she went to use her litter box and then sped through the living room to return to the study.  I found her later sitting on her chair taking a nap. She woke up as I entered and we spent had a short petting session before Tommy wanted to groom herself.
During the afternoon Tommy napped, but she would occasionally come in and check up on me.  Before dinner we got in another play session and then it was time for me to get ready for choir.  While I got ready Tommy went into the closet and sat in the sweater vest cubby.  I made sure that I gave her plenty of attention before I left.
When I returned Tommy jumped off the sofa and sat by me while I took off my coat and shoes. After I finished changing, she and I had a play session. For the light source I tried using a pen light instead of my glasses and the desk light.  It didn’t work; Tommy wanted no part of chasing the ball of light.
We moved to the living room and I watched the end of the Badger game.  We then played in the paper pile with a couple of the teasers until it was time for bed. I could tell that Tommy wasn’t ready, but I was, so she would have to amuse herself.
I climbed into bed and Tommy sat on the floor near the bed.  I put out her treat and turned on the television to check the news. Tommy jumped up and sat right in front of the set. I guess the news would have to wait until tomorrow. I read for a short time and then turned off the lights and went to bed.
Tommy didn’t eat her snack but roamed around the bedroom. She would show up later when she got hungry and was ready to sleep. I know that wherever she sleeps I can count on a wakeup call around 7:00, if not sooner.
