I got her meal ready and
completed the rest of the morning chores. Tommy seemed to still be a bit
skittish. The least little noise or movement would cause her to jump or run.
She didn’t seem as comfortable around the condo as she had before and I wasn’t
sure what was causing the anxiety in her.
She played a little with her
yellow and pink balls before going to take her late morning/early afternoon
nap. Today she slept on the unmade bed
which dashed my theory that she would only sleep on the bed once it was made in
the morning.
I completed my paperwork and
correspondence for the day and then decided to spend the afternoon transplanting
a well rooted cutting and reading my library book. I accomplished quite a bit
while Tommy napped.
Around 3:00 Tommy woke up and
came out. At first I think she thought it was time for dinner, but when she
spied her grass in the living room, she went to have some lunch. She finished
and came over to see me as I read on the sofa. Show noticed the snow flurries
outside and then went back to “guard” her grass and have one more bite.
By this time I had moved to
the laptop on the table. Tommy came over and sat on the chair next to me. She
started to come up on the table, but changed her mind. After I petted her, she moved around the condo
stopping by every so often for some petting and attention.
Close to 5:00 Tommy went and
took a quick pre-dinner nap. She has
acute hearing, so when I’d even stepped into the doorway of the bedroom she
woke up and looked up to see why she had been disturbed.
When I was stirring up her
dinner in the bowl, Tommy came running out into the kitchen. As I said, her
hearing is so acute. I wasn’t making very much noise, yet she knew exactly what
I was doing. Dinner ready, she enjoyed a little over half of it saving the rest
for later.
While I ate dinner, Tommy went
to take a little after dinner cat nap. After I was done, she came back and
finished her meal. I had been baking so I was using the dishwasher today. She
doesn’t like the noise, so since it would be running late, I figured there was
a good chance that Tommy might sleep in the bedroom.
With dinner completed, we
played for a while in between watching some television. When it was time for
bed, the dishwasher was going, so when I went into the bedroom, Tommy followed
and jumped up on her bungalow to check out what I was doing.
I put her late night snack on
the bed and got into bed. Tommy jumped down from the bungalow and hopped up on
the bed. She ate her snack, then flew off the bed and ran into the living room.
I’m not sure when or if she’ll be back during the night, but I do know that we
had ended the day well.
