Tommy didn’t stir on the bed
until 5:30 this morning. She even stayed put during the night when I got up to
go to the bathroom. Either she was very
comfortable where she was and didn’t want to make the effort to move, or she was
just tired.
Once 5:30 came around, Tommy
was ready to eat, but wasn’t too much of a pest, only trying to rouse me a few
times before 6:45 when I finally got up. I cut my finger removing the lid from
her can of food and had to run and take care of it. She didn’t complain at all, but just waited
patiently in the kitchen until I returned with my bandaged finger.
Once breakfast was done and
grass had been eaten, Tommy seemed to be upset.
She didn’t want to be touched, but kept talking to me. She finally went
into the bedroom and sat on her rug. She allowed me to pet and scratch her and
began purring. Sometimes she’s not very specific about her needs and it takes
me a while to figure it out.
Having received the attention
that she wanted she went back into the living room and settled down on the
ottoman to enjoy the sunshine. I spent the majority of my day trying to catch
up on paperwork. Whenever I needed a break, it seemed that Tommy would show up,
jump on the desk, and get me to focus my attention on her.
After feeding her dinner and
having my own, I got ready and went to choir.
When I returned, Tommy was ready to play, so we spent some time expending
some energy. Once that I was done, I was off to bed knowing that sooner or
later Tommy would want to sleep on the bed and get some of my body heat.
