Tommy still wasn’t sleeping on
the bed when I woke up at 4:00. I went to check on her and there she was
sitting up in the living room waiting for me.
I picked her up and took her into the bedroom. She didn’t fuss at all
while I held her, so I thought that we were doing okay. She slept for a little
while and then left, so I went back to sleep.
Tommy tried to wake me a few
times between 5:00 and 6:30 when I finally arose. I got out her food and
started getting the condo in order as we were going to have company later in
the morning. Tommy supervised the dusting and sweeping, but left to leave me unsupervised
during the vacuuming.
Tommy was very polite when our
guest arrives and was very attentive at first. She checked out Michele’s scent,
coat and purse. Once she understood that we’d be talking for a while, she moved
to the ottoman to enjoy the sun and the sights.
When the delivery person
arrives, I had the door wide open and Tommy came to investigate, but never got
close to the door. Michele kept out her hand as a warning and Tommy followed
the suggestion not to bolt to (or out of) the door. The sun had gone behind the
clouds, so Tommy moved to the bedroom to nap.
Tommy spent the rest of the
afternoon napping on the bed while our guest and I talked. She as again very
well behaved when Michele went to say good bye.
The rest of the afternoon and evening Tommy spent on the top of her bungalow,
coming out occasionally to eat or just investigate what I was doing.
When I went into the bedroom
to watch television while lying on the bed, Tommy remained on the bungalow
again occasionally leaving to eat or check around the house. I fell asleep on the
bed and there I remained all night while Tommy slept on her bungalow.
