Tommy and I had our usual
differences about when it was time to wake up.
She usually woke up some time between 4:00 and 5:00 A.M. and expected
breakfast. I thought that between 6:30
and 7:30 was a better time. Try as she might, I didn’t crawl out of bed on
Saturday until 6:30.
Once she had her breakfast and
grass, I did my usual morning duties. A little before 10:00 I left to get a We
Energies cookie book and run some other errands. I returned about two hours later. It took
longer to get home from the freeway ramp than actually drive back from
Southridge because I forgot that the Veteran’s Parade was Saturday morning and
may roads were blocked.
As I put items away, Tommy was,
of course, curious and had to check to see what each item was. I really think that she was checking to see
if there were any treats or food items for her. Once that was accomplished, we
spend the rest of the day doing laundry and catching up on reading and
writing. I did the actual work, but
Tommy supervised and let me know when it was time for a kitty break.
We had a couple play breaks.
After the last one Tommy practically collapsed on her rug in the living
room. Since it was 10:30, I went to bed
and Tommy soon joined me. She usually comes in some time during the night, so
this was a pleasant surprise.
